David Mitchener is one of Australia's leading advertising, hotel and lifestyle photographers. He has been shooting for over 10 years, working on many local and international campaigns.

Educated at RMIT in Australia and Brooks Institute of Photography in California, his career has included stints in New York and Denmark, and has taken him on shoots in South America, South East Asia, Japan and New Zealand.

This body of personal work started in 2000 with a trip to South America after the purchase of the remarkable X-Pan camera. It resulted in a successful exhibition of large, 2 metre long prints in Melbourne, Australia.

David has found time in his busy schedule to follow this up with several trips since, specifically with the aim of exploring his unique personal style of  photography. Big Wide Art displays some of David's favourite pieces.
