Print information

BWA-Insitu-2

The photographs are taken with a panoramic film camera called a Hasselblad X-Pan. This is a small and very portable camera which allows shooting with great spontaneity, yet produces images of beautiful quality, owing to it's very wide film format and superb optics.

David shoots using a grainy negative film stock, which in combination with some specialised processing techniques, yield a painterly, organic effect. Although looking a little grainy up close, step back and the prints take on an analog softness impossible to achieve with a digital camera. Each print is numbered and comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.

Editions of each print will be limited to 25 of the Medium print size and 10 for Large print size with subsequent editions more expensive.

Material

The prints are made with the Lightjet large format printer - the benchmark in photographic printing worldwide, and are printed on Kodak Endura Satin photographic paper.

This is an archival paper stock with a print life of 100 years in typical home display, and 200 years in dark storage. As Kodak says, they are prints which will last more than a lifetime.

Pricing

Prints are available in 3 sizes:

85cm x 190cm (33.5in x 74.8in)
from $ 1250AUD
62cm x 127cm (24.5in x 50in) $ 480AUD

Each print has a large area of white border of approximately 10cm around it.

This means prints can be framed without a matt board, or the border can be trimmed down as desired.

Framing

A reputable local framer should be used to mount and frame your print. Whether you have your photograph professionally framed or just pin it to the wall, it should not be hung in direct sunlight, as this can reduce the life of the print.

Screen Display

Whilst we have taken great care to display the images as accurately as possible in the online galleries, every computer screen will display color and contrast in a slightly different way, meaning the printed colors may vary slightly from what you see on your monitor.
